We would like to thank the following people for their
involvement and help to make this project a success:
Professor
Steve Mann was our supervisor and coordinator for the project. He helped us from the beginning by getting us interested and
involved in wearable computers, introducing us to the EyeTap concept and
mediated reality. His
viewfinder program was indeed the basis for our project and he was
instrumental in helping us formulate the basic idea behind our visual
enhancer.
In addition to all of this, Professor Mann helped us with the choice of edge detection
algorithms, optimization of that algorithm, lending us the new Xybernaut
wearcomp for the design fair, and general feedback about the project.
James Fung
was very helpful with wearable computers and the Linux operating system.
In the field of image processing, we would like to
thank Professor Anastasios
Venetsanopoulos and Professor
Kostas Plataniotis for guidance and their expertise, especially in
edge detection algorithms.
We would also like to thank Professor Francis Dawson for helping us with the written components
of the project, and finally Mr. Tim
Trant for his help in the ugsparcs lab and with general UNIX and Linux
help.
